In extending the glass fiber optic network ewz.zürinet, ewz is relying on two mobile iPad applications, optimizing the process while saving time and money.
To get to grips with the challenge of rolling out and installing a glass fibre optic network in the city of Zurich, ewz together with youngculture mobile has developed and implemented two iPad applications used in various project phases:
- Collection phase: the first application enables fast and simple offline data collection (incl. photos) and their transfer to back-end systems. Compared to the earlier manual and subsequent system entry , this saves time and money, while data quality is improved owing to a structured entry process.
- Installation phase: This database may be accessed via the second application. In addition, it is also used to set up a structured process flow, ensuring the performance quality by doing so
Following the successful pilot phase, both applications are being rolled out with all ewz’s installation partners. These applications are shared direct to iPads and iPad minis of the installation partners.
